Music & Creative Arts

Our music programs begin in the fall and run through the school year. Each child has the opportunity to participate on Friday afternoons from 3:30 - 5:30 PM. Children can learn to play various instruments, sing in choirs, and work on dramas that will all be presented at quarterly performances. We also incorporate other creative art classes such as rap and dance. Classes that make up the Youth Music Program come together at the end of each quarter to create a program that will perform on a Sunday morning where families are encouraged to attend to watch their children perform.

Example classes (subject to change):

  • Devotion in Motion: Children learn routines using dance, sign language, ribbons, and timbrels.
  • Rap: Children explore Christian rap, learn how to compose a rap, and then deliver it.
  • Singing Company: Children learn to sing various Christian children’s songs.
  • Guitar: Children learn the structure of the instrument, chords, notes, and strumming patterns.

Corps Cadets

Corps Cadets begins in the fall and runs through the school year. Corps Cadets meets on Sundays at 9:30 AM and is for teens who are at least 13 years old (or in the 7th grade). Participants must also be enrolled as a junior or senior soldier in The Salvation Army. A Corps Cadet is a young Salvationist who undertakes a course of Bible study and leadership training at his/her own corps in order to grow spiritually and become better equipped for effective service in The Salvation Army.
