Click Here for More COVID-19 Program Updates > When the “Shelter-In-Place” has been lifted all of our regular Volunteer Opportunities will resume. Volunteers MUST meet age requirements (listed below).

The Salvation Army Sunnyvale/Mtn View 

  • We need: 5-6 Volunteers
  • Description: Help pack and distribute “brown bags.” Two volunteers for reception and 3-4 to bag food and load into client’s trunk.
  • Days/Hours: Next available day Friday, March 27, 2020, 11am – 3pm (please call or email Calvin for future days)
  • Age Restrictions & Other Info: Ages 18 - 59 (for the time being); dress code closed toe comfortable shoes, pants or long shorts, no sleeveless shirts.
  • Volunteer Registration: Volunteer Statement (aka waiver) needed several days before date (to be cleared and processed). Orientation Meeting needs to be scheduled weekdays, either 10am or 11am (approximately 15 minutes)

The Salvation Army Gilroy

  • We need: Up to 10 volunteers on Thursdays, and up to 2 volunteers Wednesdays & Fridays
  • Description: Thursday: Pre-bag produce and clean up; Wednesday & Friday: Help with the food pantry by packing Pantry Bags
  • Days/Hours: Thursdays from 8am –12 pm ( for pre-bag & distribute ), 1:30 – 4pm ( for break-down & clean up ); Wednesday & Friday from 9 – 11:30 am
  • Age restrictions & Info: 18- 59 (for the time being); dress code closed toe comfortable shoes, pants or long shorts, no sleeveless shirts.
  • Volunteer Registration & Orientation Meeting: Volunteer Statement (aka waiver) and orientation needed. Bring volunteer statement to meeting along w/CA DL or CA ID. Volunteer hours will be scheduled at that time, along with procedures. Orientation Meeting needs to be scheduled Wednesday, 2 pm (approximately 15 minutes).
